Anti-racism and Diversity

A 'fair go' for all is necessary for healthy people and communities. Valuing Australia's cultural diversity and making sure our communities and organisations are free from race-based discrimination are important steps in achieving this.

Race-based Discrimination

A 'fair go' for all is necessary for healthy people and communities.

Valuing Australia's cultural diversity and making sure our communities and organisations are free from race-based discrimination are important steps in achieving this.

The Anti-Racism and Diversity Studies (ARDS) research program is dedicated to increasing understanding of racism and acceptance of cultural diversity. Our ultimate goal is to shape policy and practice relating to anti-racism and diversity through collaborative research across the academic, government and non-government and community sectors.

Our program aims are to:

  • help improve understanding of racism and its health, social and economic consequences
  • design, implement and evaluate anti-racism programs
  • investigate the nature, challenges and benefits of promoting diversity

We collaborate with schools, workplaces, museums, the media, cultural community groups, local, state and national governments and non-government organisations.
