ARC Linkage Managing Urban Trees for People and Wildlife

Grant success for Dr Melanie Davern.

Congratulations to Dr Melanie Davern, and her research colleagues, on being awarded a 320K ARC Linkage Grant for their project 'Managing urban trees for people and wildlife'.

This project will explore the effects of different urban tree types and plantings upon people and wildlife in the Cities of Melbourne, Moreland and Ballarat so they can better plan their future urban forests. The project will combine tree inventory data with new information on the social and ecological effects of trees (e.g. human well-being, bird diversity) to guide future tree management decisions that lead to better social and environmental outcomes for Australia’s cities into the future.
